Crime Prevention Advice
Summer Water Safety  - The Canal and River Trust and the RLSS have a summer message 'Don't drink and drown'. There are many pubs and restaurants along canals, lots are easily accessible with a stroll along a towpath. Walking home alone, in the dark, after consuming alcohol puts you at risk - your judgement, balance and reaction to any bumps in the towpath will be impaired and the chance of ending up in the water is increased. Nearly a quarter of all adult drowning victims have alcohol in their bloodstream.
· Plan your journey home before you go out
· Walk home in the company of others, and look out for each other.
· Avoid walking alongside water after an evening out, plan a safer route and check everyone got home safely

Reminder: Closed Fishing Season 15 Mar – 15 June 2022.
