Did you witness robbery involving taxi driver in Pinehurst

We’re appealing for information following a robbery in Pinehurst, Swindon.

Between 12.30am and 1am on 4 November, a taxi driver picked up a group of passengers near to The Circle.

When the group got inside the vehicle, they assaulted the driver, who is aged in his 20s, and threatened him with a glass bottle. 

They then stole his wallet and approximately £100, before kicking his vehicle, causing damage to the door panels.

The driver got out of his vehicle near the Moonrakers and called the police while the group of men ran off back towards Pinehurst.

The first man is described as aged between 22 and 25, white but tanned, approximately 6 ft tall, medium build with short brown hair and stubbly facial hair. He was wearing a jacket with a red stripe across the stomach. 

The second man is described as white, approximately 22 years old, shorter than the first man, with a muscley build, short brown hair and clean shaven. He had a spotty complexion.  He was wearing a grey jacket with cream jeans. 

The third man was slim and short. He was wearing a grey hoody and had a black face mask on and black gloves. 

The fourth man was described as white, approximately 5 ft 7 inches tall, with a short brown beard and of skinny build. He was wearing a white thick coat.

The fifth man was approximately 5 ft 7 inches tall and of slim build. He was also wearing a black mask and black gloves. 

PC Sean Williams said: “This whole incident lasted approximately 10 minutes and has left the driver feeling really upset and shaken. 

“Our enquiries are ongoing to identify these individuals and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have information.

“When the taxi driver stopped his vehicle near The Moonrakers, several members of the public were seen in the area. If this was you, we are keen to speak to you as you could really help with our investigation.”
